Perspectives in Mathematical Sciences

This portion of the course is taught in five lectures from October 13 through November 17. The subject is scissors congruence for polyhedra in three dimensional euclidean space and Hilbert's third problem. Here is a more detailed syllabus:

Text: Johan L. Dupont, Scissors congruences, group homology and characteristic classes, Nankai Tracts in Mathematics, vol. 1, World Scientific 2001.

Time and place: Tuesday 1:00-2:30 in Science Building 1, room 109.
