BioMedMath 2008: Stochastic Differential Equation Models with Applications to the Insulin-Glucose System and Neuronal Modelling

Registration and funding

BioMedMath 2008 is sponsored by the European Union under the program Marie Curie Conferences and Training Course, which will cover major parts of travel and living expenses.
BioMedMath 2008 is also supported by the European Society for Mathematical and Theoretical Biology, Forskerskolen i Matematik og Anvendelser, Forskerskolen i Biostatistik, Copenhagen Statistics Network and Biomedical Simulations Resource, University of Southern California.
The summer school is intended for Postdocs and PhD-students  interested in the subject. Due to organizational reasons, the number of participants will be limited to 50. Contributed talks or poster presentations are possible. 

Who can apply?

Support for travel and living expenses will be available for a substantial number of participants in three categories of eligible researchers :

1.
Early stage researchers, with up to four years research experience, computed as full time years of research work after completion of the diploma giving access to a Ph.D. programme. These researchers could be of any nationality. Typically, Ph. D. students enter in this category.
2.
Experienced researchers, with up to ten years of research experience. Again, those researchers could be of any nationality.
3.

Experienced researchers with more than ten years of experience, who are nationals of Member States or Associated States and active in research outside these states at the time of the event.

To get the definitions right, the Member States are the Members of the European Union, and the Associated States are Bulgaria, Iceland, Israel, Liechtenstein, Norway, Romania, Switzerland and Turkey.

How to apply?

  Researchers that are interested in participating in the summer school and benefit from funding should apply no later than 2008, April 30.

  There is an extended deadline for application to the summer school on May 23.

Registration for the workshop

  Prices can be found on the registration form. It is not necessary to register for the workshop if you have applied for the summer school.
