Social activities

Excursion
There will be an excursion on Wednesday, 17 August, 2005. The excursion starts with a boat trip from Nya Varvet at 12.15. The boat will take us to Kalvsund where we arrive at approximately 13.15. At Kalvsund lunch will be served (BBQ: grilled fish and meat). In case of bad weather there are indoor facilities. The boat leaves again at 14.30 and continues (for about 90 min) to the town of Marstrand. There you will have time to enjoy the town and at 18.30 we go back by bus to Gothenburg. The bus ride takes approximately one hour. The price for the excursion, including lunch, will be 700 SEK ( approx. 74 Euro).

Conference dinner
The conference dinner will be in the evening of Thursday, August 18, at Sjömagasinet , one of the only three one Michelin star restaurants in Gothenburg. The restaurant is located within walking distance from the conference venue, on the waterfront of the Göta river. It has a pretty view and it faces west. Weather permitting, the dinner will be served on the terasse overseeing the river. As the name indicates (sjo=sea, magasin=easy to understand) it is a fish restaurant. The Swedish cusine is internationally known for the quality of the ingredients and for the refined preparation of fish.

From their homepage:
"Sjömagasinet is beautifully situated with a view over the Älvsborg's bridge and the harbour. The building, housing the restaurant, was built in 1775 by the East Indian Company and has an unrivalled position in the history of Göteborg and its marina.
Sjömagasinet's unique environment is therefore perfectly suited for private dinners, as well events such as weddings, anniversaries, company events, conferences and entertaining business partners.
Since the spring of 1999 Sjömagasinet has maintained one star in the prestigious Guide Michelin.
The cook is Leif Mannerström."
